This weekend my off brand Roomba, Jeremy, became a mother

I brought this on myself, didn't I? All that crowing about how I fixed the shower and how enacting competence is good for the mental health all that bragging about exerting agency over my environment it's all come back to haunt me now.

Turns out my off brand Roomba, Jeremy, had swallowed a bunch of moth eggs and quietly sat on them for a while, nurturing them until they were ready to hatch. This became apparent when I blithely let him loose to do his one job, which is to make my house cleaner.

It's a real we do not own the world we are merely guests in it moment, you know? A real nature is indifferent to human suffering time.

I don't know that this story goes anywhere, it is just the current saga of life. A moment to remember that moth infestations do not stop just because of the horrors through which you are living.

So now I guess I have to buy either some very strong chemicals or those teeny tiny wasps that eat moths, or maybe both, either way, it's a stern reminder that there is no end to tasks.
