We need at least some rich people to agree to being eaten

Labour are trying to court Reform voters. The BBC is trying to appeal to Reform viewers. We're all sick of it.

There is one common cause, I think, between a lot of us on the left, and many voters on the right and it is this: life fucking sucks right now. It's too hard. It's harder than it should be, harder than it needs to be.

Average wages have been falling behind costs of living for decades, we've had successive economic crises, we're all more exploited at work and for less money. Everyone is tired, no one can quite afford to live.

The increase in acts of mass violence in the west, whether acts of terrorism or otherwise, makes us all feel less safe. The rising numbers of extreme weather events adds to that.

Maybe you're the kind of person who engages in the act of self harm known as knowing something of politics and history and you've developed some theories and opinions about what's behind life fucking sucking right now and how we could stop it. But even if you're not you feel the effects.
